Our Next Meeting

 

Sunday, May 19, 2024 at 2:00 p.m.

Tour of Windmill Nursery at 925 W Highway 246, Buellton

​

Program: reports from Officers and Committees, followed by a tour of this many-faceted plant nursery. 

​

General info: all garden and botany enthusiasts are welcome! Meetings are free and open to the public. Any donations are appreciated. For those guests who have been attending our programs, we hope you will consider becoming a member of LVBHS to help support our programs.

​

2024 meeting dates:  Jan 21 (presentation), Mar 17 (party), May 19 (visit to local nursery), Sept 15 (guided garden tour), Nov 17 (plant & seed exchange).

Our Next Garden Care Day

 

Earth Day, April 20, 2024 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

at the Drought Tolerant Garden located near the wastewater treatment plant at 1801 W. Central Ave, Lompoc

   

Planned work: we will weed and spread mulch.

What to bring:  your own gardening tools and gloves. Wheelbarrows would be helpful. Don't forget to wear sunscreen and sunhat!

 

We invite the community to help care for our public gardens: the Burton Mesa Chaparral Garden (BMCG) that celebrates native flora and the Drought-Tolerant Garden (DTG), a demonstration garden for the City of Lompoc.

2024 garden care dates:  Feb 3 (BMCG), Apr 20 (DTG), Aug 3 (BMCG), Oct 26 "Make a Difference Day" (DTG).
